Ines Lex was born in Baden-Württemberg. At the University of Music and Performing Arts in Stuttgart she studied with Prof. Ulrike Sonntag and Prof. Thomas Pfeiffer and at the Royal Academy of Music in London with Elizabeth Ritchie. She graduated with top marks and honors. In London she won the Elena Gerhardt Lieder Prize, the Blyth-Buesst Operatic Prize and the John Ireland Song Competition.
Important advances were made in master classes with Christine Schäfer, Klesie Kelly-Moog, Edith Wiens and Ingrid Figur. She is currently working together with Mariette Witteveen.
Ines Lex was part of the soloist ensemble of the Oper Halle since 2010/2011. She sang in such diverse roles as Annie (Der Freischütz) , Morgana (Alcina) , Rodisette (The Patience of Socrates) , Wendy (Peter Pan) , Dunyazade in the rediscovered opera Schahrazade of Bernhard Sekles, Anna (Nabucco) , Maria (West Side Story) and made her debut as Gretel (Hansel and Gretel) and Pamina (The Magic Flute). Most recently she played Aphrodite in the highly regarded production of “Phaedra”, a stage work of Hans Werner Henze (director Robbert van Steijn. Florian Lutz, music line).
From the season 2015/2016 Ines Lex has worked freelance. She will continue to perform as guest at the Halle Opera House.
